The new families:
Mercury Hall was built in 1904 in the West Texas town of Mercury. In 1997, it was moved into South Austin and restored to its original loveliness. The wood floors, stained glass windows, and shiplap walls are all original. Here's what it looked like pre-wedding mess!

Unfortunately, we don't have any photos of the ceremony itself because it was too dark, but it was beautiful. Everything took place outside, under the three big oak trees on the grounds. Our friends Shane and Russell set up paper lanterns in the trees over our heads. The wedding party walked in to the sound of banjo and pedal steel, played by more friends, Dickie and Gary. Chris and his mom walked in arm-in-arm, and then I came in with mom and dad.

We chose November 2, Day of the Dead, as our wedding day to honor and remember all our family and friends - living and passed on. Our friend Julie set up this gorgeous altar for us, right outside the chapel door.
For all who made it to the wedding, and for those who missed it, as well: The evening was perfect in every way, exactly what Chris and I wanted it to be...The best party of our lives - A celebration of life and love!
